Raiders pull out 3-point win over undefeated Foxes

Oct. 26, 2008 - CADDO MILLS — Winnsboro handed the Caddo Mills their first loss of the season in a nail-biting 25-22 victory. Mistakes on the ground by the Foxes was their undoing.
Winnsboro's Collin Garrett ended the first half with 66 yards on 14 carries but finished the game with 108 yards on 28 touches. Red Raider quarterback Sean Ditto 3-of-6 passing for 84 yards.
Caddo Mills' junior Nathan Jeffery raced for 60 yards to put Caddo Mills deep into Winnsboro end.Recovering a fumble, Fox senior Garret Gray recovered it in the end zone for a Caddo Mills touchdown.Junior Josh Crawford ran a two-point conversion to Ryan Turney for the Caddo Mills lead of 15-12 at the break.
Leading the possesion in the second half, Caddo Mills raced 66 yards in just 5 plays with Jeffery scoring on a 44-yard touchdown reception from senior Jeremy Fowler. Fowler earned 77 yards on4-of-11 for passing with a touchdown and one interception.
With the PAT, Caddo Mills still held the lead at22-12 in the third quarter.
It was during the fourth quarter that the Winnsboro Red Raiders made their move on the Foxes. They commenced a seven-play, 66-yard drive with Sean Ditto passing to Zach Allen for an 11-yard touchdown for a 25-22 lead.
The win puts Winnsboro' record at 6-2, 4-1 in District 13-2A. The Red Raiders will look to scare up another district win hosting the Cooper Bulldogs (2-6, 2-3) on Halloween.
