North Hopkins makes top five at Margo-Harbison Invitational

Oct. 13, 2008 - The North Hopkins varsity cross country teams each placed in the top five at the Margo-Harbison Invitational ran at the Eddie Moore Park at Texas A&M Commerce on Saturday.
Haley Flanagan won third with a time of 14:02 out of a field of 106 runners. Other varsity Lady Panthers competing were Laiken Gammill, 18th, 14:56; Blair Bassham, 29th, 15:21; Jessica Jones, 47th, 15:53; and Scarlett Lozano, 52nd, 16:04.
Overall the Lady Panthers team placed fourth with 128 points just below Sulphur Springs in third with 124, Chapel Hill in second with 83, and Garland in first with 38.
For the varsity Panthers team, Jose Cadena won fourth with a time of 18:28 out of a field of 147 runners. Other competitors from the North Hopkins varsity boys team were Erick Perez, seventh, 19:07; Dylan Horne, 23rd, 20:03; Lorenzo Rivera, 25th, 20:10; and Colton Boyd, 42nd, 20:52.
Overall the Panthers team placed second with 89 points just behind the Sulphur Springs team's 45 points.
The next meet will be Saturday, Oct. 18 at North Lamar High School. District begins on Monday, Oct. 27.
