Cumby’s Tarno taking her soccer talents to Tyler JC

May 8, 2008 - Cumby senior Scarlett Tarno has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Tyler Junior College.
Before moving to Cumby, where she was a standout athlete in four sports throughout her high school career, Tarno had always been a soccer player. She played for several elite soccer clubs in the DFW area on both the indoor and outdoor circuits.
Athletics have taught her many life skills such as accountability, teamwork, dedication, hard work and sportsmanship, she said.
" I am very excited about continuing my education at TJC, as well as becoming a part of the soccer team," Tarno said. "I'm very thankful for my mom, stepdad, sister and coaches for supporting me throughout my life
"I am looking forward to attending college and being a role model for the younger generations. At this time my major is undecided."
While being an All-District selection in every sport she competed inat Cumby High School, Tarno is ready to take her talents to the next level.
"I have always dreamed of getting a college scholarship," she said. " "Signing a national letter of intent has made my family and coaches very proud."
