SSJV upends North Hopkins

March 26, 2008 - BIRTHRIGHT - The Sulphur Springs JV girls upended the North Hopkins Lady Panthers, 5-3, on Monday behind a two-run double in the first by T'Kea Johnson.

Johnson went 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Ariel Spataro and Mia Taylor each had a hit and a run batted in. Johnson also made a catch and threw a runner out at the plate to end the game.

Baylee Speaker took the win in the circle by giving up five hits, three walks and three runs in five innings. She also fanned three.

For North Hopkins (11-7), Ashley Deaton had two hits and scored a run, Tana Hall went 1-for-2 with a run scored, and Chastin Smiddy and Courtney Loper each had a hit.
