Dragons finish in eighth place at NJCC Tournament

March 24, 2008 - HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Paris Junior College Dragons wrapped up the NJCAA Division I National Basketball Tournament in eighth place with a 84-66 loss to the Chipola College Indians on Saturday afternoon.

Eric Tramiel led the way for the Dragons with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Raymond Sims scored 11 points and Ronnie Morgan added 11 points in the loss. Tramiel was the lone Dragon named to the All-Tournament team as he averaged 16.7 points and 8.5 rebounds in four games.

Chipola led 39-31 at the half and outscored Paris 45-35 in the second half of play.

Paris (30-7) shot 20-of-51 (39.2 percent) from the field, compared to 33-of-61 (54.1 percent) for the Indians. Chipola outrebounded Paris, 47-35, and had a 21-10 advantage in points off of turnovers.
