Neal shares MVP honor; two other Cumby girls earn superlative awards

March 9, 2008 - The Cumby Lady Trojans were rewarded for their play on the basketball court this season with three superlative awards and two more First Team selections on the All-District 18-A Team.

Freshman Savanah Neal was named Co-Most Valuable Player in the district after leading the Lady Trojans in scoring.

Joining her in the superlative awards was senior Scarlett Tarno as Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and freshman Brittany Seely as Co-Newcomer of the Year.

Another freshman, Laura Oveido, and junior Lindsey Lemon were named First Team All-District, giving recognition to all five of the Lady Trojans' starters.

Honorable Mention was awarded to senior Amanda Barrow, senior Jennifer Herron and freshman Ashley Anderson.

Making the Academic All-District team was Barrow, Lemon and Anderson.

The Lady Trojans finished the season with a 17-11 mark, 6-3 in district. They made it to bi-district before falling to Detroit..
