Wildcats 7-on-7 team and lineman hosting fundraisers

From Staff Reports

June 27, 2008 - Two Sulphur Springs Wildcat teams are headed to state competitions in the upcoming weeks and are raising funds for their trips.

Wildcats assistant coaches Martin Bryant and Jeff Riordan are putting together a fundraiser as the Wildcats linemen and 7-on-7 football teams have qualified for state tournaments.

The players will have a car wash Wednesday, July 2 from 10:30-2 p.m. at Brookshires and Fire Station No. 2 on Gilmer Street in hopes of raising $3,000 for hotel fees, meals and travel expenses for both teams.

The Wildcats are also asking for donations from businesses or individuals who would like to help out the teams.

For more information or to give donations, contact head football coach and athletic director Greg Owens at the SSHS fieldhouse (903-885-2158).
