Northcutt, Wright top male and female at Milk Run

June 16, 2008 - The 9th Annual Milk Run opened up the festivities of the Hopkins County Dairy Festival at the Sulphur Springs Coleman Park Athletic Complex under rainy conditions Saturday morning with a local runner winning the top male prize.
Former Sulphur Springs graduate and Texas A&M runner Graham Northcutt was the top male performer with a time of 17:19, while Jessi Wright was the top female performer with a time of 24:39 in the 5K run.
In the under-12 male race, Nathan George was the winner with a time of 24:27, while Gage Womack and Tanner Ramirez followed with times of 27:47 and 27:48 respectively. The female winner was Madison Ramirez with a time of 27:07 while Summer Brooks was second with a clocking of 37:26.
In the 13-19 male division, the title went to Taylor Womack, 19:41, while Sulphur Bluff distance runner Trey Henderson was second in 20:06 and Seth Hodges was third with a time of 21:21. In the female race, North Hopkins Sabra Thomas was the only competitor and finished in 25:28.
In the 20-29-year-old division, the male winner was Victor Rodriguez with a time of 19:03, while Jeff Haygood, 20:20, and Sulphur Springs Wilson Jones, 21:20, were second and third respectively. Audrey Kallisek won the women's title in 26:56, while Martha Peckham, 39:31, and Allisan Paulson, 40:31, finished in second and third.
In the 30-59-year-old division, Joe Mack Walters was first in the men's race with a time of 22:30, while Scott Henderson was second in 22:44 and Israel Lewis was third in 23:06. The female winner was Janis Thomas with a clocking of 27:26, while Susan Croft was second in 28:57 and Sabrina Ramirez was third in 30:11.
Melvin Joslin was the only winner in the 60-69 category as he ran a 39:51 in the 5K race.
In the 1K run, Kaitlin Maddux was first, while her brother Mark was second and Carson Croft finished third.
