7-on-7 league in action tomorrow

June 11, 2008 - The three Sulphur Springs 7-on-7 teams will put their combined 6-0 records on the line tomorrow when they return to the SSHS practice fields for Week 2 of the league they are hosting.

The Wildcats have three teams in the league - a varsity-level squad playing in the 10-team varsity division, and a JV and a freshmen team competing in the six-team JV division.

All three teams won their opening two games last week.

Tomorrow, the SSHS varsity will take on Paris at 4 p.m. and Mount Vernon at 6 p.m. The JV team will play Mount Vernon at 4 p.m. and Winnsboro at 6 p.m. The SSHS freshmen will face the Winnsboro JV at 5 p.m. and the Como-Pickton JV at 7 p.m.

The league games are played at the SSHS practice fields. The games are free to the public, though fans should bring their own lawn chairs. The league plays eveyr Thursday through June 26.

The varsity 7-on-7 squad will play in Tyler on June 21 in a state-qualifying tournament.
