Both Saltillo teams remain undefeated in district

Jan. 11, 2008 - Saltillo continued their undefeated district campaign with wins over Sulphur Bluff Thursday night, while the North Hopkins Lady Panthers picked up their fourth win of the year in holding off Cumby during Parent Night.

Girls

North Hopkins 51, Cumby 47

BIRTHRIGHT - North Hopkins improved to 4-16 on the year behind a team-high 14 points from Jessi Mannis and Courtney Loper, while Chrissy Hall added 13 points.

The Lady Panthers trailed 16-8 after the first quarter, 30-24 at the half and 40-37 after three quarters of play.

Savannah Neal led Cumby with 23 points.

SALTILLO - No. 1-ranked Saltillo remained undefeated on the district campaign with a double-digit win over Sulphur Bluff Thursday night.

Stephanie Methe and Winter Johnson led the team with 15 points each for the Lady Lions.

Saltillo held a 13-4 lead after the first quarter, a 25-8 lead at the half and a 36-14 lead after three quarters.

The Lady Lions are now 21-2 overall and 7-0 in district 22-A play.

SALTILLO - Derek McClure scored 13 points and Steven Mobley added 11 points to remain undefeated in district play Thursday night.

The Lions led 8-3 after the first quarter, 20-12 at the half and 37-17 after three quarters.

Saltillo is now 7-0 in District 22-A play.
