NH girls edge Winnsboro

Feb. 27, 2008 - WINNSBORO - The North Hopkins Lady Panthers evened their record at 4-4 with a 7-6 win over the Winnsboro Lady Raiders on Tuesday.

Jessica Harry pitched a complete game in the circle, giving up six runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

"Jessica had another good outing and made good pitches for the win," said NHHS coach Jim Westbrook.

Cayla Newkirk and Courtney Loper led the team at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Harry, Chelsea Hampton and Chastin Smiddy each went 2-for-4. Tana and Chrissy Hall each went 1-for-4.

"Chrissy Hall made three great plays at second base and Courtney Loper made several graet plays at first base," Westbrook said.

North Hopkins hosts Commerce at 4 p.m. Friday.
