SS freshman win opener

Feb. 12, 2008 - LONGVIEW - The Sulphur Springs freshmen opened up their softball season Monday night with a 13-4 win in six innings over Class 5A Longview Lady Lobos.

The Lady Cats (1-0) had three hits from Candace Wilkes, Mallory Rawson and Kyri Ivery. Ivery had two doubles in the game, while Rawson had one double and also pitched a complete game.

The Lady Cats will return to the field in the Paris JV Tournament this weekend with the times to be determined.
