Feb. 12, 2008 - The Cumby Lady Trojans will be in action tonight in the opening round of the UIL girls basketball playoffs, while Yantis and Saltillo wait their turn.

The Lady Trojans, who finished as runners-up in District 18-A, Div. I, behind Yantis, will take on Detroit, the third place team in District 17-A, at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Sulphur Bluff.

The winner of the game will advance to take on No. 1-ranked Martins Mill, the state runner-up last year.

Yantis and Saltillo, the District 22-A, Div. II champion, both received first-round byes in the playoffs after winning their districts. The area round of the playoffs will be Thursday through Saturday.
