Bulldogs get a new doghouse

Aug. 25, 2008 - Fans of Cooper football will have a chance to see a sneak peek of the new Bulldog Stadium Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.

The fans can walk along the track and see the new pressbox, stands, scoreboard and thhe big Bulldog mascot on the 50-yard line. The football field is adjacent to the high school fieldhouse. The Bulldogs will be playing on Field Turf and will host six games this season. Cooper will have six home games this season as they host Honey Grove Friday night, Mount Vernon, Caddo Mills, Lone Oak, Alba-Golden and Grand Saline.

"It is going to be a real big thing and something we have always wanted for the community," Second-year coach Ronnie Green said earlier in the offseason. "Where we have been has not been really nice and this will give our kids some place that is really nice to play and to give the community something to be really proud of."
