Lady Cats play at Clarksville

From staff reports

Aug. 19, 2008 - The undefeated Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be looking to continue their winning ways tonight when they travel to Clarksville for a non-district volleyball game.

The games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the freshmen, followed by the JV and the varsity.

Sulphur Springs comes into the game with a 2-0 record after wins overMount Vernon and Chapel Hill.

"We're playing well right now. We still have a lot of things to improve on, like serving. We practiced yesterday on serving. We gave up too many points on serves," said head coach Rachel Curtis.

Curtis said that Clarksville is an athletic team which should provide good competition.

"Clarksville is a good team. We played them last year. We need to be aggressive and work hard," Curtis said. "We also need to have fun. This should be a good match for us."

The Lady Cats will play in the Terrell Tournament Friday and Saturday. Curtis said the team will be in pool play at 9 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Friday with other games to be set later.

The next home game for Sulphur Springs is Aug. 26 against North Lamar.
