JVWildcats whip Texas High to stay undefeated

April 22, 2008 - Coach Kurt McCain's Wildcats wasted no time disposing of Texas High in junior varsity action Monday night, racking up 15 runs in just three innings for a 15-0 victory over the Tigers. With the win, the JV squad moves to 18-0 overall and 9-0 in District 11-4A.
After starting pitcher Jake Dougan (5-0, 0.52 ERA) struck out the side in the top of the first inning, the Cats scored six runs on two hits, five walks and one Texas High error in the bottom of the frame. They topped that in the third as they scored nine more runs on three hits, five walks and two errors.
Dougan finished the night allowing just one hit while striking out eight batters.
Offensively, SSHS was led by Shane McQueen, who had a double, walk, three RBI and one run scored. Dougan had a double, walk, two RBI and two runs scored, while Grayson North had one hit, two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored. Jordan Peoples also had a hit, a walk and two runs scored for the Wildcats.
The JV Wildcats wrap up their season Friday night at they travel to North Lamar for a 7 p.m. match-up.
