Sept. 23, 2007 - EMORY - Farmersville scored on nine of its first 10 possessions to defeat the Rains Wildcats 57-14 Friday night at Wildcat Stadium. The Farmers amassed over 600 yards of offense with 500 achieved on the ground.

Nickevian Taylor and Tajh Redwine led the Farmers ground assault. Taylor rushed five times for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Redwine carried the ball 14 times for 151 yards and three touchdowns.

The Farmers jumped out to a 14-0 lead when Redwine and Chase Wiggins scored on runs of 22 and 25 yards in the first quarter. A touchdown run by Taylor followed by two touchdowns by Redwine gave the Farmers a 33-0 lead with three and a half minutes remaining in the first half.

After four failed drives, Rains managed an eight-play scoring drive that covered 74 yards. A beautiful over-the-shoulder catch by Casey Paris in the corner of the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown capped the drive. Colby Hoover added the point-after kick to make the score 33-7.

The Wildcats left 55 seconds on the clock and Farmersville found that to be plenty of time as they quickly reached the Rains 5-yard line for a 22-yard field goal by James Wise to take a 36-7 lead at the half.

Rains' woes continued in the second half. While the Wildcats were spinning their wheels on offense, the Farmers kept piling on the points. On their final possession of the night, Rains managed to put together a 63-yard scoring drive. Gage Ogeda raced into the end zone from 12 yards out to cap the drive. Devan Anderson added the point-after kick to bring the scoring total to 57-14.
