Lady Owls improve record to 11-1

Sept. 5, 2007 - YANTIS - The Yantis Lady Owls throttled Boles with a 3-0 sweep in Yantis Tuesday night.

The Lady Owls bested the Lady Hornets 25-22, 25-15, 25-21 to bring their season record to a fine 11-1 going into tournament play at Cumby Thursday.

Baylee Gilbreath had seven kills, four assists and four digs for Yantis, with Jamie Gilliland adding six kills, four assists and two aces.

In the Yantis team effort, Isy Reyna added five kills, two aces, four assists and six digs; Amanda McKinney had four kills, four assists, five digs and an ace; Holly Madden contributed three assists and a kill; Christina Tauzen had four assists, four digs and three kills; and Traci Glenn had four assists and six digs defensively.

On Thursday, Yantis is set to play Detroit at 2 p.m. and Quinlan Ford at 4 p.m. in pool play at Cumby.

Next week, the Lady Owls host Sulphur Bluff Tuesday and travel to Cumby Sept. 15 to face the Lady Trojans.
