Winnsboro starts off season with shutout win

Sept. 1, 2007 - WHITE OAK - Winnsboro started its season off in the same fashion as last year, routing the White Oak Roughnecks, 47-0, in a dominating performance.
The Red Raiders had two players break triple-digits in rushing yards as halfback Tommy Evans ran for 128 yards on 10 carries and quarterback Sean Ditto rushed for 100 yards, scoring two TDs and three conversions and throwing for another touchdown.
On the receiving end of Ditto's scoring aerial was Chaz Baxter, who touched the ball six times and scored three times.
Baxter started the scoring with a 4-yard run on the Red Raiders' second drive. He added a 28-yard scoring catch from Ditto later in the first period and later had another 4-yard TD run.
Ditto scored on runs of 4 and 17 yards, and the Red Raiders wrapped up their scoring on an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown by Cody Madsen.
Winnsboro finished the game with 375 yards rushing and had 403 total yards. They ran 55 offensive plays with their ball-control broken wishbone formation, and kept the ball for 30 of the game's 48 minutes.
The Red Raiders host Hughes Springs next week as they try to get even with the Mustangs for handing them their only regular season loss in 2006.
