Quitman routes Cooper

Sept. 1, 2007 - QUITMAN - The Cooper Bulldogs opened up the season on a tough note Friday night with a 42-7 loss to the Quitman Bulldogs.

First-year coach Ronnie Green's team is now 0-1 on the season and will travel to Harmony next Friday with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Cooper defense gave up a touchdown in the first quarter, two in the third quarter and three in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs scored their only touchdown of the game on an 11-yard run by Sean Witherspoon in the second quarter to tie the game at 7-7 heading into halftime. Adrian Migura booted the PAT good.

Cooper quarterback's Garrett McGraw went 0-for-4 with two interceptions, while Migura went 0-for-1 passing for the Bulldogs.

Leading rushers in the game were Witherspoon with nine carries for 63 yards and one touchdown, Andre Larry with 13 carries for 54 yards, Gaylon Bacy with 13 carries for 52 yards, McGraw with nine carries for 39 yards and Migura with four carries for 12 yards.
