Prairiland dampens Cooper's playoff hopes

Oct. 28, 2007 - PRAIRILAND - With only one game remaining in the regular season for the Cooper Bulldogs, the Prairiland Patriots put in a damper on their playoff hopes with a 53-6 win Friday night.

The Bulldogs (2-7, 2-3) are two games back of Chisum and DeKalb for the final playoff spot in the district standings. Cooper will wrap up its season Friday night at Chisum, who is a game back of Prairiland.

Andre Larry led the way for the Bulldogs with 13 carries for 104 yards and scored the only Bulldog touchdown of the game on a 23-yard run in the second quarter.

Quarterback Ty Huie went 2-of-6 for 27 yards and three interception for the Bulldogs as Garrett McGraw had both receptions.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Ellis Hinsley with 18 tackles, Garrett Wilson with 16 tackles and a caused fumble, and Jacob McPherson with 15 tackles and a fumble recovery. Miguel Monroy and Adrian Migura had nine tackles each, while McGraw had seven tackles and a blocked extra point.
