Yantis keeps district record spotless

Oct. 12, 2007 - UNION HILL - The Yantis Lady Owls moved to 5-0 in District 18-A with a convincing 25-6, 25-7, 25-6 sweep of Union Hill on Tuesday. The victory raises the No. 8-ranked Lady Owls' record to 23-1 for the season and it was their 19th consecutive win.

Junior Amanda McKinney posted nine aces, two kills and four assists. Christina Tauzen had a team-high six kills along with two aces, Holly Madden had four aces, two kills and two assists, and Isy Reyna had four aces, one kill and four assists.

Jamie Gilliland had two kills, three tips and two assists, Baylee Gilbreath had two aces, one kill and one assist, Traci Glenn had three kills, McKenzie Apel had one ace, Keri Glenn had one assist, Christina Rodriguez had one assist, and Karianne Locke had one tip for a score.

The Lady Owls will face Miller Grove, whose only district loss was to Yantis, at 5 p.m. Friday in Yantis.
