Oct. 31, 2007 - Two former Lady Cat teammates will face off against each other tomorrow in the Lone Star Conference women's soccer championship tournament.
Gayle Grand-Lienard, a freshman at Texas Woman's University, and Makenzie Kelty, a sophomore at Texas A&M-Commerce, will play each other in the first round of the tournament at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Tom Thompson Field on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla.
Grand-Lienard is a two-time district Most Valuable Player for the Lady Cats, while Kelty was a First Team All-District midfielder. In 2006, they shared the team's MVP honor.
The six-team field is hosted by UCO, which won the regular season league championship with a 10-0 record.
The championship starts at noon tomorrow with No. 3 seed Angelo State playing No. 6 West Texas A&M. The 2:30 p.m. game matches No. 4 Texas Woman’s against No. 5 Texas A&M-Commerce.
