May 24, 2007 - A pair of Sulphur Springs Lady Cats added another patch to their letter jackets recently with more recognition by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.

Sophomore midfielder Bonnie Grafton and senior defender Devyn Cullins were both named Class 4A All-Region by the TASC.

Cullins, who was Co-Defensive MVP of District 16-4A, was chosen in voting by the region's coaches for the honor. She was a fierce defender who also had five assists.

Grafton, a First Team All-District choice, was the team's second-leading scorer and assist-maker. She had 15 goals and 16 assists.

The pair are believed to be the first SSHS girls to earn All-Region recognition.

Senior striker Gayle Grand-Lienard was nominated, but was not listed on the TASC website as All-Region despite being the district's MVP and school record-holder in goals.
