Lady Cats to play McKinney Boyd in first round

From Staff Reports

Mar. 17, 2007 - The Lady Cats found out who their soccer playoff opponent will be, and it's going to be one of the top teams in the state.

Sulphur Springs, the No. 3 team in District 16-4A, will take on McKinney Boyd, the No. 3 team in the state, next week, probably on Thursday.

Boyd, which finished tied for second in District 15-4A with Mesquite Poteet, won the tiebreaker and will be the second seed in that district. McKinney, the top-ranked team in the state, won 15-4A.

SSHS head coach Martin Bryant said he will meet with Boyd's coach on Monday to work on the time, date and place for the bi-district match. They will probably flip for home field.
