Hornets finish four at Dodd City Tournament

Mar.13, 2007 - DODD CITY - The Miller Grove Hornets finished in fourth place in the Dodd City Tournament on Saturday.
Miller Grove lost 5-4 in the final game against Avery as Yan Heijligers gave up a leadoff single in the bottom of the eighth inning, then the next batter reached on an error, followed by a walk to load the bases. Avery's next batter then rapped the game-winning single.
Miller Grove starting pitcher Brady Harmon went six innings and gave up four runs - three earned - on five hits with four walks and 13 strikeouts.
Reece Evans went 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and an RBI, Harmon, Jeramie Burns, Joey Hegseth, Zach Crispin, Heijligers, Jordan Lennon and Aaron Baylus all recorded hits.
In their game on Friday, the Hornets lost to Silo, Okla.,13-0, in four innings.
Coach Sam Panter said of the 13 runs only four of them were earned as Miller Grove committed five errors in the game. Evans was the losing pitcher giving up 11 runs on five hits.
Lennon recorded Miller Grove's only hit with a single in the top of the fourth inning.
