SSJV tennis had tough time with Terrell

Mar. 9, 2007 - The SSHS junior varsity tennis squad won four matches and lost 10 against Terrell on Tuesday.
Singles winners for the Wildcats were Zach Mahand, Shelby Blezinger and Dominique Pryor. Doubles winners were Dakoda Painter and Dillon Smith.
"Overall, this was a good match for us in that we learned what we need to work on to get better," said SSHS head coach Susan Reynolds. "This is a young squad and due to canceled matches haven't had a lot of match experience this year. These kids worked very hard and put forth a great effort against and experienced Terrell team."
The JV Cats will next be in a tournament in Van on March 22.

Boys Doubles - Cory Wright/Kyle Garst lost to Willis/Burden 5-8; Painter/Smith def. Lantrip/Oakley 8-1; Hinkeldey/Mahand lost to Moore/Powell 4-6.
Girls Singles - Shelby Blezinger def. Tesla Ashabranner 8-3; Dominique Pryor def. Cinthya Hernandez 8-6; Autumn Keiss lost to Kelly Nix 0-8; Heather Stuckey lost to Samantha Mahaffey 6-8; Shae Lynn Emerick lost to Haley Phillips 1-8.
Girls Doubles - Karen Mora/Brendy Molina lost to Nix/Phillips 2-8; Hannah Carrington/Whitney Starrett lost to Mahaffey/Hernandez 2-8.
