Both Saltillo teams win games over Roxton

Dec. 26, 2007 - Both of the Saltillo boys and girls basketball teams remained undefeated in District 22-A with wins over Roxton on Friday.

The No. 1-ranked Lady Lions defeated Roxton 55-32, while the Lions won, 61-40.

Girls

Saltillo 55, Roxton 32

ROXTON - The No. 1-ranked Lady Lions were led in scoring by Stephanie Methe with a game-high 19 points and Brooke Lane with 15 points. Saltillo improved to 17-2 overall, 4-0 in district.

Saltillo led 12-9 after one period, 27-15 at halftime and 47-20 entering the fourth quarter.

ROXTON - Three players scored in double figures for the Lions, led by Derek McClure's 22 points, Jocsan Gamez's 14 points and Steven Mobley's 11.

The Lions (4-0 in District 22-A) held a 13-8 lead after the first quarter, a 27-18 lead at halftime and a 43-35 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
