Chapel Hill hands Saltillo second loss

Dec. 4, 2007 - PATTONVILLE - The Saltillo Lady Lions got 27 points from senior Winter Johnson on Saturday, but lost their second game of the season to Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill in the championship game of the Prairiland Screen Graphics Invitational Tournament.

The Lady Lions are now 8-2 on the year with both losses coming to Chapel Hill, the latest by a 43-37 score.

Johnson scored 12 of her 27 points in the fourth quarter, and had all but four of the Lady Lions' 23 second-half points.

Stephanie Methe and Emily White each scored four points for Saltillo.

Chapel Hill was led by Alyssa Giddens with 17 points and Shantell Davis with 13. Tournament MVP Nena Millsap was held to three points.

The Lions broke open a two-point game in the second quarter by outscoring Prairiland 23-8. Derek McClure had 10 of his game-high 15 points in the period.

Jocsan Gamez added 13 and Kenneth Poor chipped in 11 for the Lions.
