Sulphur Bluff places two runners to regional meet

April 12, 2007 - DEKALB - The Sulphur Bluff Bears had two runners advance to the regional track meet by placing third in their faces at the area meet Wednesday afternoon.
In the 3,200-metr run, Everett Wilder advanced with a third place finish in a time of 10 minutes, 37 seconds, while freshman teammate Trey Henderson finished fifth in a time of 10:54. In the 1,600, Wilder finished in fifth place, while Henderson was sixth.
Merced Rodriguez qualified for the regional meet in the 800-meter run with a third place finish in a clocking of 2:13 - which was four seconds faster than his district time last week.
In the 400 meters, Jacob Stahl finished sixth with a time of 55.94 seconds, while the 4X400-meter relay team of Zach Hope, Kyle Keahey, Ismael Gutierrez and Stahl finished in sixth place.
For the girls, Veronica Gutierrez was sixth in the 3,200-meter run.
