Paul Pewitt does it to Cooper again

Sept. 16, 2006 - OMAHA - Paul Pewitt did it to Cooper again.

The Brahmas used an outstanding running attack to score points in every quarter on their way to a 57-6 victory over Cooper. It was Pewitt's fifth straight victory over the Bulldogs in the last four years.

Pewitt received 226 yards rushing from Antonio Gilmore on just eight carries. He scored three TDs on runs of 90, 32 and 69 yards. B.A. Betts added 148 yards rushing on just nine totes, and he also scored three TDs on runs of 44, 30 and 4 yards. Betts added four extra points, a conversion run and a 25-yard field goal.

The Brahmas scored a pair of TDs in the first quarter and opened up their lead in the second period with 21 unanswered points to take a 34-0 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the fourth period on Garrett McGraw's 52-yard fumble return.

Cooper was held to just 35 yards rushing on 36 carries, and quarterback Adrian Migura completed 1-of-11 passes for 7 yards.

Ellis Hinsley led the Cooper defense with 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Travis Williams and William Tubb each caused a fumble for the Bulldogs.
