Sept. 12, 2006 - Two games in the books, and injuries are starting to take their toll - for seemingly every team.

The Wildcats are no exception as three defensive starters are hobbling and unsure if they will play this week. Denison - Sulphur Springs' opponent on Friday - is also suffering from injuries as its quarterback is limping.

For Sulphur Springs, junior inside linebacker Josh Dunn, the team's leading tackler with 26 stops in two games, and senior outside linebacker Clay Wilks, who is second on the squad in tackles with 12, are both nursing sore knees and their availability is uncertain for Friday.

Senior safety Colby Mills, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the opening series against McKinney, is hopeful to be ready to go Friday. Mills had 86 tackles last season to go with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Denison is also hurt by injuries as quarterback Stanley Morrison, the district's MVP as a junior, sprained his ankle on Friday in the Yellowjackets' loss to Waxahachie. He was replaced by Eric Chavez, who had been playing receiver.

Morrison's status for Friday night is also questionable.
