SSHS freshman "B" tie for district championship

Nov. 11, 2006 - PARIS - The Sulphur Springs freshmen "B" teams earned a share of the District 11-4A title with a 34-0 victory over North Lamar on Thursday.

Jet McCarter scored and Eric McGee scored two touchdowns each in leading the Wildcats to the win.

McCarter, who had 87 yards rushing, scored the Wildcats' first two TDs on a 55-yard run and a 15-yard interception return. Then, McGee, who rushed for 161 yards, scored on a 70-yard run and a 55-yard run. He also ran in a two-point conversion.

Sawyer Sinclair threw a conversion pass to Kade Wimberley for another conversion, and Clayton Vaughn had an offensive fumble recovery in the end zone to complete the scoring.

The Wildcats ended the game with 293 yards rushing, thanks to the blocking ofJake Doland, Marshall Holland, Emanual Enriquez, Colton Sowell and Daniel Dixon.

Defensively, McCarter had two interceptions, McGee forced a fumble, and Rivera had a fumble recovery. Other key players on defense were Jonathan Tsai, Rivera, Derek Hanson, Edwin Gutierrez, Vaughn, Robert Askew, McCarter, Brackhahn, Bryce Jenkins, Nathanel Dykes, Wimberley, McGee and John Thorn.
