From Staff Reports

March 27, 2006 - VAN - The Sulphur Springs Wildcats tennis team captured second place in the boys "B" division singles and won the consolation championship in the girls "A" doubles at the Van tournament last week.

"This was by far the toughest tournament competition-wise we've played in," said SSHS coach Susan Reynolds. "I was impressed with our kids coming off of Spring Break and bad weather this past week.

Jordan Horne lost to the No. 1 seed from Lindale, 5-7, 2-6, in the finals, while Cynthia Sanchez finished in fourth place in the girls "A" singles.

In doubles competition, the girls team of Aly Jackson and Lauren Longino won against Joiner and Emerson of Wills Point, 8-6, to take the consolation crown.
