North Hopkins win warm-up game over Dodd City

Feb. 11, 2006 - BIRTHRIGHT - The North Hopkins Lady Panthers held off Dodd City, 56-46, Friday night to notch their 20th victory in a playoff warm-up game.

Senior post Katy Williams led Lady Panthers (20-10) with 17 points, and sophomore guard Jessi Mannis added 15 points. Sabra Thomas, Elizabeth McPherson and Ebbonye Johnson all had eight points.

Dodd City was led by Kimberly Gibson with 17 points, including four 3-pointers, and Jordan Parker with 15.

North Hopkins, champions of District 19-A, Div. I, will play their bi-district contest on Monday against the winner of Avery and McLeod, who play tonight to see who represents District 20-A, Div. II in the playoffs.

If Avery wins tonight, the Lady Panthers will play them at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Prairiland. If McLeod wins, the Lady Panthers will face them at 7 p.m. Monday at New Boston.

In other area games, Saltillo will take on Dodd City in their bi-district game at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Greenville.

The North Hopkins boys will have a warm-up game against Roxton at 7 p.m. Thursday in Birthright.
