Miller Grove drops five game match against Quinlan Boles; North Hopkins wins in five

Oct. 19, 2005 - MILLER GROVE - The Miller Grove Lady Hornets dropped a five-game match to the Quinlan Boles Lady Hornets Tuesday night in District 19-A.

Boles won by scores of 20-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, 16-14.

Natalie Bailey recorded seven points, four blocks and 16 kills, Callie Smith had 12 points, two aces and six kills, Adrian Estrada added nine points, one ace, 21 assists and one kill, and Hayli Gannon had 15 points and nine assists in the loss.

The Lady Hornets will play Fruitvale Saturday with the junior high starting at 10 a.m.


BIRTHRIGHT - With the top two teams in District 19-A play battling in a five-game match-up, the North Hopkins Lady Panthers stayed undefeated in district play.

North Hopkins won the last three games to take the match by scores of 20-25, 24-26, 25-17-25-17, 15-7 to improve to 28-3 overall and 8-0 in district play.

Katy Williams lead the way with a double-double of 15 points, 14 kills, four aces, three blocks and two assists, while Maegan Baxter had a double-double with 11 points, 28 assists and one kill, Tashona Berry recorded eight points, one ace, six kills and one assist, and Sabra Thomas had seven points, two aces, three kills and two assists.

Holli Argenbright contributed six kills, one block and one assist, Ebbonye Johnson had nine points, four kills and one block, and Kaylee Cotten added 15 service points for North Hopkins.

In junior varsity action, Fruitvale won in two games 25-22, 25-14 over North Hopkins.
