Sulphur Springs junior varsity tennis drops meet to Wills Point

Oct. 14, 2005 - WILLS POINT - The Sulphur Springs junior varsity tennis team lost 17-11 to the Wills Point Tigers Tuesday afternoon.

"This was a great outing for our junior varsity," said SSHS coach Susan Reynolds. "We played a lot of matches and that's what I wanted for the kids to get a lot of playing time and competition in."

On the boys side, Kyle Williams, Trenton Kennedy, Matt Stokes and Kendall Scudder were victorious as Williams had two wins in singles action. 

On the girls side, the Cats had singles victories from Katie Hettich, Erin Davis, Britney Silva, Jessica Henry, Shelby Blezinger and Amy Ellis.

The junior varsity has a tournament next Thursday at Greenville, and Reynolds said the progress is going right on schedule.

"I'm very pleased with the progress we're making and by our tournament next Thursday at Greenville, I feel we'll be more solid and have a great performance."
