|Wildcats middle school "A" team takes 22-20 win overall Greenville in non-district action|

Oct. 3, 2005 - The Sulphur Springs eighth-graders pulled off an "A" team win over Greenville Thursday with a 22-20 non-district victory.
The SSMS "B" team fell, 34-12.
In the "A" game, Sulphur Springs running back Shane McQueen rushed for 137 yards, two touchdowns and two conversions on 13 carries to lead the Wildcats to 262 yards of total offense.
Jimmy Villa added 22 yards on three rushes, and quarterback Colby Suggs threw for 89 yards and one TD.
Greenville was ahead of the Wildcats, 12-8, at halftime, but the Cats retook the lead on a 78-yard TD pass from Suggs to Bryant Jackson. On the Cats' next play from scrimmage, McQueen went 83 yards to paydirt for a 22-12 lead.
Greenville scored a late TD and conversion to pull to within two points.
Jackson ended the game with two receptions for 81 yards, while Jaspen Debase caught 1 pass for 15 yards.
"We're getting really close to being pretty good offensively," said SSMS coach Martin Bryant. "We're not there yet, but we're getting close."
Defensively, standouts were Tyler Higginbotham, J.B. Beachem and LeMarcus Kendricks.
In the "B" game, Markell Williams ran for one touchdown and caught a TD pass from Sawyer Sinclair for the Wildcats' points.
Defensively, Adam Perry, Kade Wimberley and Kolby Wimberley played well.
