Sulphur Springs freshman finish tournament as runner-up

Dec. 6, 2005 - The Sulphur Springs Wildcats finished as the runner-up in the Sulphur Springs freshman tournament held this past weekend.

Sulphur Springs (3-3) lost in the championship game to Mount Pleasant.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Mount Pleasant 61, SSHS 28

With the Wildcats down 33-24 heading into the fourth period, Mount Pleasant put a lock on the game by outscoring them 28-4 in the final eight minutes.

Mount Pleasant had four players in double figures led by Savage with 15 points.

SSHS had seven points each from Rashad Hall and Jace Jackson.

Sulphur Springs 60, Greenville 54 (OT)

Sulphur Springs needed overtime to take down the Greenville Lions Friday night to advance to the championship game.

Tied at 49-49 after the fourth quarter, the Wildcats went on an 11-5 run during overtime for the six point win.

Hall had a team-high 19 points while Jackson pitched in 18 points for the Wildcats. 

Greenville was led by Barrett with 20, Bosworth with 12, and Taylor with 11 points.
