|Fumbles decide SSMS games|

Sept. 22, 2004 - LANCASTER - Fumble recoveries decided both games Tuesday night as the Sulphur Springs eighth-graders split a pair of contests with the Lancaster Tigers.
The SSMS "A" team won, 18-16, while the "B" team was edged, 14-8.

Tarron Wright forced a Lancaster fumble in the end zone, then recovered it himself for the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Then, with a minute remaining and the Tigers with a first-and-10 at the Wildcat 11-yard line, Ruben Espinoza game up with a game-clinching fumble recovery.
The Wildcats scored their first touchdown on a 38-yard TD pass from Tyrik Rollison to Johnny McSheffery. Wright scored the next SSMS TD on a 15-yard run.
Rollison ended the game with 100 yards passing, while Jace Jackson had two catches for 30 yards.
Defensively, Darrell Franklin had five tackles and an interception, and Tommy Chambers registered six tackles including two sacks.
Lancaster "B" 14, SSMS 8
A Lancaster defender returned a fumble 85 yards for the game-winning TD with two minutes remaining after the Wildcats had led the entire game.
For Sulphur Springs, Kendrick Wright scored on a 60-yard run on the first play from scrimmage and Rashad Hall added the conversion run.
Coaches said the defense played well, led by Koyt Koon, Colton Cummings, Dylan Rutherford, DaQuincy Morris, Eddie Arcega and Andrew Morales.
