Sulphur Bluff keeps rolling

Sept. 21, 2004 - CLARKSVILLE - The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears continued their winning ways Friday night with a four-game victory over Clarksville to improve to 15-1 on the season.

The Lady Bears won by scores of 25-16, 25-27, 25-13 and 25-18 and will now prepare for the Lone Oak Lady Buffaloes out of Class 2A before the start of district play next week.

Senior Asley Pettit paced the Lady Bears once again with 13 kills, six digs, four aces, a block and two dinks in the contest, while senior Jill Jaggers had eight assists, two digs and two aces.

Junior Jennifer McDonald finished with three aces, three kills, two digs, an assist, and a block for the Lady Bears, while senior Jami Jaye had a dig and an assist during the contest.

The Lady Bears are in District 18-A along with Avery, the Detroit Lady Eagles and Simms James Bowie Lady Pirates.

Sulphur Bluff will open up district play against James Bowie Oct. 5 at home with the junior high starting at 4 p.m.
