NH volleyball takes care of Detroit quickly

Sept. 20, 2004 - BIRTHRIGHT - The North Hopkins girls took care of Detroit in three straight games Friday in varsity volleyball action.

The Lady Panthers set down Detroit by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 26-24, with the strong play of Katy Williams and Sara Weir leading the way.

Williams had a team-high 15 kills to go along with three aces, two blocks and two assists, while Weir recorded 11 points, four aces, five kills and seven digs.

Meagan Baxter added a team-high 17 assists, Patricia Reed recorded five points and five digs, Ebbonye Johnson added four points, five kills, three assists and 10 digs, and Tashona Berry had 10 points with four aces and two kills.

Ashley Wilson came through with 10 digs and five points, and Kate Hollenshead added one block.

In the JV game, North Hopkins won, 25-18, 25-10, behind nine points from Ashley Hooten and five kills from Holly Argenbright. Hannah Martel added two kills, Cayla Newkirk had five assists, and Megan Lehr scored six points with two aces.
