Moore leads SSHS JV to win

Sept. 3, 2004 - QUINLAN - Sophomore Brittany Moore had an outstanding match on Monday, leading the Sulphur Springs junior varsity to a five-set win over the Boles' varsity.

Moore led the team in service points (16), aces (five), kills (six) and blocks (two) as the Lady Cats fell behind 0-2, but came back to win the final three games. The match scores were 19-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-9.

Brandi Lane and Laura Ream shared the team lead in sets with four each, while Kaylee Cotten had a team-high 13 digs. Colbie Cross added 10 points and 10 digs, Whitney Rogers recorded 11 service points and 10 digs, and Darla Dickson contributed three kills and two blocks.

Sloane Martin added three kills, as did Ream. Jordan Anderson had eight digs.

The JV girls are scheduled to play in the Wills Point Tournament today with games set for 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
