Lady Cats JV improves to 4-3

Oct. 14, 2004 - TEXARKANA - The Sulphur Springs junior varsity improved its district volleyball record to 4-3 on Tuesday with a two-game victory over Texas High, 25-9, 25-20.

Colbie Cross had a team-high 15 points, while Laura Ream recorded nine points, including six aces to go with two kills, and Brandi Laine had a team-high four assists along with four points (three aces) and a kill.

Brittany Moore had a team-high three kills and a block, Whitney Rogers added four points and an ace, Katie McCarty scored three points, while Sloane Martin and Wendy Williams each recorded a kill.

Last week against Paris, the Lady Cats (13-14 overall) lost in two games to Paris, 25-27, 18-25. Moore led the team in kills (five) and blocks (one), while Tarra Morton added four kills.

Ream had three points, five assists and a kill, Rogers added two points and a kill, and Jordan Anderson scored four points. Laine recorded three assists and Cross had three points. Erica Verner also added two assists. Williams, Leah Avent and Darla Dickson each contributed one kill.
