Hollenshead, Thomas pace Lady Panthers

Oct. 11, 2004 - FLOWER MOUND - Kate Hollenshead had another top three finish and teammate Sabra Thomas was not far behind Saturday, leading the North Hopkins Lady Panthers to a fourth-place team finish at the Marcus II Invitational at Westchester Park.

Hollenshead, a senior who has won four cross country meets and finished no worse than third in the other two, came in second place in a time of 12 minutes, 22 seconds behind Lindsay's Chelsea Hermes (12:05).

Thomas, a sophomore, came in fifth in a time of 12:35. She has done no worse than eighth this season.

Meanwhile, Ebbonye Johnson finished 32 in 13:24 and Jessi Mannis was a step behind in 13:25. Rosa Fuentes was 447th in 13:44 to round out NH's top five.

Others were Sara Weir in a time of 14:33, Cayla Newkirk in 14:34, Kara Mannis in 14:59, Leia Butler in 15:09, Katy Williams in 15:11, Megan Lehr in 16:03, and Hannah Martel in 16:22.

As a team, the Lady Panthers finished fourth out of 25 teams in the Class 3A and under division with 120 points. The NH "B" squad was 23rd.
