SSMS girls split with Mount Pleasant

Nov. 23, 2004 - Sulphur Springs Middle School Lady Cats split two games against Mount Pleasant Monday night with the "B" team winning 15-12, and the "A" team losing 34-27 in district play.

The "A" team is now 1-1 on the season and will travel to Greenville for a contest next week.

Delandria Lewis led the team with nine points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Katie Dodd had four points and nine rebounds.

Saria Hawkins had four points and four rebounds, Erika Garrett had six points and three steals, and McKenzie Cross had a team-high six steals and four points in the loss.

In the "B" team game, Talea Reynolds led the team with eight points, Bonnie Grafton had five points and eight steals, Krista McMahan had five rebounds, and Alyssa Burney came up with four steals for SSMS.

The "C" team played an intrasquad game and was led in scoring by Zabrina Wilhite with four points for the white team.
