NH beats Cooper

Nov. 22, 2004 - BIRTHRIGHT - The No. 1-ranked team according to the preseason Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, the North Hopkins Lady Panthers, picked up their second win of the season Saturday over the Cooper Dogettes, 59-53.

NH senior guard Sara Weir led the way with 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting, two assists and one rebound, while teammate Katy Williams finished with a double-double with 21 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and five steals.

Elizabeth McPherson finished with six points, two assists and one rebound, and Ebbonye Johnson had two points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals in the win.

The Dogettes wer led by Keli Byre with 20 points, Liz Preas pumped in 10 points, while teammate Jalessia Larry and Christen Nichols scored six points each.

Cooper held a 43-41 lead going into the fourth quarter, and were outscored 18-10 in the fourth.
