The Lady Eagles (9-3, 5-1) broke a 3-3 tie with four runs in the seventh. Wright walked and scored on Harrison's RBI single. Humphrey walked, and Harper cleared the bases, trying to stretch her triple into a grand slam before being thrown out at the plate.
AGHS didn't go down without a fight, as two runners reached on errors in its half of the seventh. What looked to be a routine hit to left field took a bad hop, was misplayed and turned into an inside-the-park home run to draw the Lady Panthers within one. Harrison snagged a fly to left for the final out.
AGHS took advantage of two Lady Eagle errors to go up 3-0 in the second. CPHS answered an inning later with a three-spot of its own. Hunt walked and scored on Moss' inside-the-park shot to left. Wright singled, stole second and scored on Harrison's hit to tie the game.
The Lady Eagles travel to Quitman Tuesday to face the Lady Bulldogs, who fell 5-4 to Caddo Mills Friday. The Lady Foxes are tied with CPHS atop the district standings. The Lady Eagles will play five of their final seven at home.
