MP wins district title
From Staff Reports

March 12, 2004 -- The Sulphur Springs boys soccer team will go into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in District 14-4A after Mount Pleasant secured the top spot with a win Tuesday night.

Mount Pleasant's 1-0 victory over Pleasant Grove gave the Tigers the district championship despite Sulphur Springs sweeping them in district play.

The third-place team out of the district will be Pleasant Grove because Texas High also lost on Tuesday, knocking the Tigers out of the playoff picture.

Sulphur Springs has one regular season game remaining, Friday at North Lamar, though it will have no bearing on the playoff picture.

The Wildcats will then open the playoffs next week, probably on Thursday, against either Frisco or Sherman.
