Cotten throws another no-hitter
From Staff Reports

March 5, 2004 -- Kay Lee Cotten threw another no-hitter and the Lady Cats gave her more than enough support Tuesday night, as the SSHS JV Blue team swamped Wills Point, 13-1, in three innings.

Cotten struck out six and walked one in going three innings before the game was called on account of lightning.

The Lady Cats batted around in both the first and third innings without getting three outs, then allowed Wills Point to bat.

Sulphur Springs took a 6-0 lead in the first inning, backed it up with two more runs in the second and five more in the third before the game was called. They knocked out seven hits and took advantage of seven walks.

Cotten was the leading hitter for the Lady Cats, going 2-for-3 with a double and triple. Brittany Moore also rapped out a double. Hitting singles were Rhyannon Page, Sarah Petty, Sarah Burns and Katie Price.
